Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Educate people of India not to use vehicle more and more instead use bicycle or other alternative mode for transportation and use the vehicles only when it is necessary. Then come to ur ministers they r using vehicles unnecessarily for example any inauguration they will use one helicopter it needs more and more fuel this is one best example like this there r so many unnecessary work govt is wasting maximum fuel. If u cut this then we may save more than 25% of fuel per day.Again prestige issue

A simple way to save fuel is having good tyre pressure. Right now to fill air in tyres a vehicle has to stand in a que and this is wastage of fuel. Solution: While car if filled with petrol, add the air pump also at the same place and fill air while petrol is filled at the same time. 1. Car engine is off. 2. fuel and air are filled at same time This saves time of country, tyre pressure is good always, no need to stand in que. Petrol companies can look into this suggestion.

Nowgong-Tinsukia should be made Hydrocarbon and Fertilizer hub. Gas should be imported from Burma and Bangladesh, if indigenous not adequate. Tourism centres should be created in Meghalaya/ Assam/ Nagaland.

Similar to "ICE bucket challenge" used to raise funds , govt should start something called as "Non-subsidy LPG inclusion" to move and increase the number of people for using non-subsidy cylinders. The petroleum ministers can select probably 5/10 people from their relatives, friends, colleagues, celebrities, political groups and ask them to nominate the same number of people under the scheme and those people will continue the chain which will definitely increase the non-subsidy connections.

Govt can claim publicly that we have not reduced prices steeply to make a balance- 1. If we reduce prices too low, roads will be overcrowded and pollution will increase, so a balance is needed. 2. other than low petrol prices, we also need other infrastructure like roads, metro etc for which govt need funds. So, govt should claim that the amount received by excise/tax on petrol will be reinvested to develop infrastructure. These justification will be more convincing and U should claim it proudly.
