According to present market survey it came to our knowledge that new construction of Offshore Structure and refurbishment workload is rising in South Eastern Asia (Singapore), and they off-load their work to Middle East (Dubai, Abu-Dhabi). One Indian company L&T also doing the same job through their Gulf operation. Indian Petroleum Company IOCL & ONGC off-load their refurbishment work to Middle East.
Why India not focusing on upstream where it witnessed $4.4 Billion invest on downstream in 2013

The product related to NE - if has tax exemption, The NE production - if does not have tax, The all investment in NE - if declared as exemption from tax, Then think how many investment will be there from indian & FDI. It will be 1lac croe in 5 years. After such huge investment our oil comsumption will drop up to 65%. It will boost our economy above 10% gdp growth rate.

We need to explore full potential of Oil & Gas in our country. This seems to be static for last many years. It will generate job opportunities for our youths and also save us foreign exchange, which could be better used.

conservation, augmenting with alternative energy sources and distribution are the key. Conservation efforts should include some basic steps like in Korea, forbid using commercial building AC before 11am and after 4PM, older vehicles pay higher taxes, same with cars not built with latest BS, tax less hybrid cars or electric vehicles. Use coal-to-oil (CTL) technologies to produce more oil. Availability of shale to be surveyed. Subsidies - only target based cash subsidy. Others pay for act usage.

Like China why cannot we limit our consumption to the extent of domestic production????? Our crude import bill is in Lakhs of crores, this curtails our planned expenses in desired areas, such as Health, Education, Water, Roads, Agriculture, Research etc.
Can we have views from our learned fraternity......

99% of posts regarding this topic is irrelevant to the subject. The topic is about involving local communities and state governments in Oil&Gas exploration & production activities in North Eastern Part of India. I would recommend that a mediator is placed to remove irrelevant content.

Public transport system need to be improved so that more and more people should use it. There should be a same mechanism like Japan, where car prices are very high, this will result in people using public transport.
