Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

We should give them confidence by the E&P corporates that such activities would bring lot of development in respective areas. Either to put certain minimum contribution/contribution to local developments/education/social issue resolution etc/jobs for E&P operation etc so that they can feel part of these activities not it's activities by which they feel not part of such operations.

I RESPECT MY COUNTRY, MY LAND. TO IMPROVE MY COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY IDEAS FOR IMPLEMENTATION. THE SUBSIDY ON DOMESTIC LPG IS HIGHLY DEBATED ISSUE ALWAYS. BUT VIRTUALLY THAT IS THE ONLY BENEFIT AVAILABLE TO EVERY CITIZEN IN THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION OF CASTE, RELIGION, MINORITY MAJORITY ETC. THE GOVT THEREFORE SHOULD NEVER STOP THIS. WHEREAS ALMOST ALL THE FRAUDS ARE COMMITTED BY THE DEALERS THROUGH DELIVERY BOYS BOOK CYLINDERS AND SELL IT FOR MORE THAN Rs.1000 & SWINDLE.

The best option to overcome challenge in petroleum sector is to use ethanol produced from sugarcane. Increase the use of ethanol in petrolium products from 15% to 85% as it is done in brazil. This will reduce the import and we will produce ethanol from sugarcane factories. Everything prepared from sugar are expensive such as sweets, cold drinks, alcohol, electricity and many more bit still we decide price of farmer sugarcane on basis of sugar rate this is not fare policy.

We need to see if we can get access to R&D recently used USA to reduce dependency for Oil on Gulf and Russia. We need to explore our own resources using this technology. Alternatively, we also need to explore if we can go for long term contracts with Russia at presently rock bottom prices. We can ensure at least 50% of our purchases in next 5 years will be at present prices leaving room for further savings if the situation worsens.

Equal VAT should be applicable on petroleum products across all the states. State governments are using petroleum as a major revenue generating product and raising VAT whenever central government or oil companies reduces the basic price of petroleum products., which nullifies the good work done by central govt or oil companies. Effects of this is seen immeidately in the markets adding on the inflation of edibiles items, viz vegetables, pulses etc

As done in pterol and disel time has come to move forward and rationalize prices of LPG and Kerosene as well. In todays world Kerosene is very rarely used and almost every where Lpg is soucre for cooking . Its very common that Black Marketting people get involved and sell Kerosene at very high prices to earn hge profit . We should look into this and try to minimize the subsidy in this which will be very helpful or may be we can try direct subsidy in the account of consumer as done in case of LPG

There is need to enhance the R&D sector for exploring the critical energy resource like Shale gas, Methane Gas Hydrates and coal bed methane. It is good news that India’s National Gas Hydrate Program(NGHP) launched and for better output Public and private sector should start collaborative projects. Recent scenario, All the companies investing there money in random manner and there is no constructive unified approach to enhance the R&D. All the best DGH and NGHP
