Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Killing the local mafias in north east is mandatory first. Any company who wants to do business in NE areas has to pay protection money to local politicians. Till we maintain good law and order across country we can cannot prosper

Government should think using ethanol as fuel. India is in No. 2 position in sugarcane production But it is Zero (0) in ethanol export . Ethanol is a renewable energy. brazil already use ethanol fuel up to 90 %. If we use ethanol as fuel certainly we can reduce the fuel import. Our farmers will get some money.

Government Can relay remove the subsidy now. At the same time Government should create mechanism to arrest the fluctuation of fuel price. The Oil Companies should not alter the price of the fuel frequently (now it is 15 day) it may occur once in 6 months

With petroleum prices going down in the international market, it would be better that the Government works on finishing the subsidy because it is projected that the international fuel prices will go down further. General Indians can digest the lifting of subsidy now because it is not going to effect their pocket now. If the Government misses the opportunity now then the Second chance is not going to come and Subsidy will be a permanent component.
