The Government of India issued guidelines for the promotion of payments through cards and digital means on 29th February, 2016. The guidelines can be seen (here). A Committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ratan P Watal, Principal Advisor, NITI Ayog and Former Finance Secretary with key industry stakeholders, RBI and concerned Government Departments to review medium term measures necessary to promote the digital payment system in the Country. The Committee’s report can be seen here.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India invites public Comments / suggestions on the report. We invite you to read the report and provide your valuable feedback and suggestions by 11th January 2017. The final decision on the Report will be taken after considering the comments/suggestions received on the Report.

This can be done as doing recharge through SIM card. The Sim card language should be in all indian local languages. Steps.1.Paymet 2. Enter the Payee No (2 times) 3. Enter the Amount (2 times) 4.Status of Payment. Now the Payee should receive a message in his mobile phone as SMS. He can connect the mobile phone to Computer to print a receipt if it is a shop. Every shops can be linked with some mobile nos to their TIN no. Bharathi H

Namasthe sir, i have few suggestions regading cashless economy * First make the larger DEMO Campaigns in all the villages for how to use the online and mobile banking system and tought them about the use of digital economy * make everyday an atleast one hour program compulsory in all the channels including entertainment channels to show how to use Online and mobile banking in their regional languages campaign should be as like did in polio program module

I am for cashless transactions to some extent. As is seen world wide cash transactions do form part of the economic system and it is fun. We cannot become machines. This aspect should be highlighted to the Public at large. The result of cashless transaction should definately result if lower operating costs.

Here are a few suggestions: 1 Waive service charges and service taxes on all electronic payment means viz. NEFT, IMPS, wallet etc. There is no logic in spending more rupees on online payments in the name of service charges 2 Promote GoI backed banks, their apps and specifically UPI 3 BHIM app is very slow. Please release updates 4 Why should someone pay taxes and charges online in spite of being a taxpayer ? #WatalCommittee #DigitalPayments #DepartmentofEconomicAffairs #NITIAayog #MyGov

its very good to share our idea with the govt. i think for digi payment central govt. should collaborate with the state govt(s) to boost the knowledge about digi pay. i belong to from a town where so much people don't know about it. state govt must start the "DIGITAL PAYMENT CAMPAIGN" for knowing the ease of its use.govt has a good approach with state to apply such things.

A number of mobile apps are on android, windows and ios system. It is better to give 15 minutes tv programme daily at 7.00 a.m. / 7.00 p.m. repeat by different app companies for their utilisation in regional languages preferably in Hindi/English/Local language for at least three months continuously.

Tell the peoples about profits of dgital transaction through ads n other medias. Persons of rural areas are not aware of digital payment n they think that this is useless. For its effectiveness you should firstly make a decision that after two months or more cash will not be accepted....so peoples will have no other choice than opening a bank account n using their ATMs for giving power to digital payment.

since government allows that traders need not have book of accounts of their shops till their turn over is 40 lacs rs and taking benefit of this rule people do transaction worth crores with having any accountability and does not pay any taxes whatsoever . government must make a rule that any shop incorporated under shop act must have a bank account in the name of the firm irrespective of the turnover . secondly every shop must have swipe machine for debit and credit card ...
