And pls temper the government services' arrogance in dealing with citizens - humiliation by a govt officer (Police, municipality, passport dept, govt hospitals, etc) is one of the very important reasons that makes a common intelligent person want to take the first opportunity to land a job abroad - coz these govt officers (and not really the politicians) who interact with citizens on a daily basis are the face of the govt, and people do not want to stay here bcoz of the apathy of govt machnry..

Brain drain will stop only when everyone (most importantly the intelligent lot) develops a sense of belonging towards this nation, its culture and way of life right from childhood - children of developed countries dont 'dream' of going to a 'better' place when they grow up. Need to go to the core of motivations towards brain drain and then tackle the reasons holistically. Run a survey among kids (u ll get honest answers) across age categories on why they want to go abroad when they grow up..

the government should make efforts to stop the export of our students by providing them support and platform after realising their worth... students should be selected from amongst all the universities of india who can help us build the nation through their knowledge and in this way we will be selling technology instead of buying it from others..
