1.Have one compartment for mobile mall for branded sellers. Travellers spend such captive long time, they can do lot of shopping on trains. Railays gets rent+/commission.
2. Allow mobile shopping carts of branded items on trains for a % commission.
3. Allow Artists at a fee to provide entertainment - May be leave some space in each compartment for shows or have a compartment allocated for shows, where standing audience is allowed.

Every compartment of train should be allowed for healthy commercial advertisement of various companies through e-tenders.

Dear Sir,
we are facing problems of mobile network during travel.
solution: we can tie up with BSNL which is a GOVT. organisation for network along the tracks so BSNL will get revenue & people can get network & RAILWAY can get a % of BSNL revenue.
Most of all peoples satisfaction. The railway can also have a towercell moving with train which will connect with the towers along the tracks for WIFI in railway coach.

Leasing & Licensing of surplus land needs to be decentralized through suitable Railnet based App by delegating full powers to GMs & DRMs. Registration of these agreements with local revenue authorities shall be mandatory to avoid legal complications in future. All agreements should have an exit clause to either party under different circumstances. Different rules required for surplus land in Metro,A,B,C class & rural. If existing system is set right as above, it will fetch huge revenue.

Indian Railways must start doing paid consulting work for other countries/ institutes/organisations. Experienced Railway officers should be encouraged can share 50% or so of this earned money with Indian Railways.
The consulting areas could be technical aspects of how a train runs (aspects of mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering), social aspects on how Indian Railways works cohesively with thousands of employees and millions of passengers across the nation.

The condition of retiring rooms
aren't good. Use the space above the stations to build hotels and get hotel management companies to manage it for the railways.
