There are huge tracts of real estate by the side of rail tracks through out India. This can be leased to farmers for growing oil producing plants which can be used as part of bio fuel and can be used to run the trains. This will give employment to landless farmers and at the same time generate income for them. Simultaneously, you will be reducing the carbon footprint.

Increase your advertisement offerings, all railway bogeys have plenty of space for advertising, however the same is not utilised.
Get rid of old ticketing system, come up with new system like NFC based tickets.
Revamp your entire operations, get rid of manual accounting. Adopt ERP solution in all the departments.
Let private players use the tracks, lease your bogeys & engines so that private players can operate them.
Revamp of stations & set up warehousing facility in stations.

Bcz of long q/improper facility many people don't buy pf tickets which leads unwanted people entering pf. Hence It is very difficult to keep the PF clean.
sol that generates revenue/keep PF clean
Make PF tickets very minimal say only 2Rs and make it compulsory including passengers. Have multiple entry points to ease the move. Let easily available coins in the station or smart prepaid card which can be swiped at the entry.its not implementable in all the stations but at least in bng,del..etc

Railways is the largest real estate owner of the country. This captive source can be utilized to its capacity by leasing renting or utilizing the large vacant land for contractual farming both horticulture and cash crop thereby increasing revenue and contributing to the supply chain and exporting those products to our neighbouring countries through its own network.

Pain point 1
many uses internet in their journey and every one can't depend on their
mobile data due to signal probs/tab users/laptop users
soln to pain point that generates revenue
provide an option to opt for wifi in train while booking their online ticket like the current insurance, charge minimal amount based on their jrny hours and make active only in that time and only that mobile number alone can use.everything can be automated easily, send OTP to their mobiles to activate wifi
