Sir,
1.Remove unreserved tickets and have only A/c and NON A/c reservations and keep the ticket price in between reserved and unreserved class
2.Give the responsibility of achieving ticket collection to TT's and keep the promotions based on achieving targets, most of the times TT's are pocketing money
3.Fine digitally for those who travel ticket less,
4.Have database of movies which can be streamed to individual users in the train at a fraction of the cost of watching in theatres

Short term measures:
1.The ticket collection from passengers must be reinforced. The defaulters must be charged with high penalty.
2. Special and highly comfortable coaches must be added in special routes with high tariffs, say Cochin to Bengaluru, Pune to Mumbai etc.
3. The whole ticket rates must be reviewed since ticket rates are very low in many segments.

There should be a smart card or a token for fare so that anybody can not travel without fare, For vender there should be some discount, and using smart card should be some discount. And station should be closed so that anybody can entry on platform by entry gate only.
For general-
A normal person- 10% for using smart card
for a vendor-15% discount
(Note- this is for general travelling, Not for reservation)

3. Another feature I have noticed abroad is that all airports are connected to cities through rail. It is the most economical and convenient transportation means from airports to cities abroad. If we do the same in India, that will be a profitable investment and will be welcomed by all passengers, will reduce the pollution due to excessive road traffic.

Digitalization of Railway stations stores:
- Every item should have scanner code as in stores.
- Should not allow cash transactions
Ex: Water bottle Rs 15 They charge 20
Ice cream Rs 10 They charge 20
Drink Rs 25 They charge 30
Where this extra money is going?
Hence Scan the each item and pay the bill via digitalization.
If people still want to pay via cash, then they need to face this extra money.

Provide Hi speed, chargable wifi on the train for all passengers. The mobile signals are bad and the internet is hardly accessible in many areas. Providing Wifi with some amount charged for it can generate a lot of revenue for Railways. The station Wifi's are also so slow in a city like Bangalore. It hardly loads google page. So, this is one area for earning revenue.

Using space on platforms as business centers and advertising them properly. Designate a different parking for these business users. Presently entry and exit to platforms in metro city is tedious, it should be made friendly for people those who want to use these facilities.

Railway coaches can have swanky advertising on their coaches rather than the dirty looks they have right now. This can be charged and good amount of revenue generated since we have so many trains all over India.
