Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world railway systems generate 10% to 20% of their revenues from non-tariff sources.

IR typically has focused on increasing revenues through tariff hikes. It wants to change this and challenge the conventional thinking by exploiting new sources of revenue so that every asset, tangible or non-tangible, gets optimally monetized

We invite ideas from citizens on increasing non fare revenue for Indian Railways.

Several tracks are not utilised to the extent that several cm to ft high vegetation has spread over the track. These tracks can be utilised for alternate modes of transport through NGO, PPP modes or by clearing the land for alternate purposes, like parking, food stalls, or by selling the tracks that are is disuse and generating revenue from them. 3.Making available guest houses.

reduce the confusion of RAC reservation which is confirmed but sear/ birth will be disclosed afterwards. Instead of That use the word Reserved and allotte the seat as it is reserved . It will reduce the Cancellation of RAC Tickets also make the Tatkal and Premium Tatkal Reservation more easy as the Security measures used in form of Letter bellow the Login are very confusing and not readable. If you want to purchase the Tatkal Tickets by the Direct Customers please Make this change urgent.

Very Simple. Don't increase the fare but there will be an option to choose the exact seat. That means, model photo of Coach will be shown during booking ticket. Those who select that option and choose seats as per their choice will pay premium charges. This will also eradicate the problem of allotment of seats of a single family in different places. No need of begging or requesting with strangers for seat exchange. Reward me for more ideas 😊
