Encouraging private partnership in converting the banks into magnificent riverfronts with the introduction of a minimal fee would prevent overcrowding and provide the necessary funds for regular maintenance and upkeep. Introduction of electric crematoriums along the burning ghats to ensure complete cremation and disposal of complete powdery ash into the river in accordance with the rituals. Constructing check dams along the course of river will give an aesthetic fuller look during dry months.

The Ganges, both a religious symbol and sustainer of life of millions, has been degraded and polluted to its maximum in recent years. Stringent laws must be put in place to enforce chemical treatment of noxious wastes before being released into the river. Secondly, dumping of half burnt bodies, submerging of bodies and throwing any kind of material - religious/non-religious must be banned in toto. Thirdly, restricting the no. of devotees to avoid overcrowding especially when water is less.

Kanpur tanneries and industries add a lot by pollution. Make a national/international competition for fast, affordable, acceptable technical and managerial solution. give this challenge to IIT, IIMs & other engg/ mgmt institutions. give govt support for faculty/students for travel/stay. Further allot one town to each IIT/IIM team combo for solution and competition. Either change technology of tanneries/effluents or replace them with new non polluting ones. Acceptable & implementable!

I dont understand why its necessary to make our holy river polluted? Why we are killing our mother only for culture? Is it necessary to submerge Statues/Idols of God in river Ganga? Why one cannot worship God in Temples only? Why polythene's are not banned near the premises of river? Why Its not banned to throw anything in Ganga? Ganga is our mother and we are polluting it? our culture never supports pollution.. i appeal everybody to love Ganga and need their support to clean it

To clean GANGA,it is first required to close leather factories,teneries etc on banks of Ganga specialy in UP.They release their toxic&waste water into the Ganga.They must be either shifted or made to treat the water&reuse it.For this state govt should also be taken on board.The conflict of interst may occur but centre should not buckle under any opposition.JAI GANGA MAIYYA.

How can tourists understand? Request you to get it done in English/Hindi as well. It would help. Thanks.
