Employer forfeits gratuity, if employee does not complete 5 years in the organization. This is an old policy, and it needs to be changed. Like GOI has made certain changes in Provident Fund for employee, the same must be done for gratuity, as it will help middle class people. There should be no restriction, if an employee works for an organization more than 6 months, he must be eligible to get gratuity or there should be an universal account in which he can request to the new company to deposit his gratuity. It will be beneficial for masses, please look into this.
