India is accelerating towards an increasingly digitised and data-driven economy. With increasing digitization and engagement, the volume of data is also increasing exponentially, providing opportunities for better governance, service delivery and innovation in sectors critical for societal transformation.

Against this backdrop, the National Data Governance Framework Policy aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas, inputs and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the hub for Data-driven innovation and decision making.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Data Governance Framework Policy (PDF 509 KB)

Use of data for town planning and future expansions . Many reports can be published but not seen 1 yet . With toll collection & CC TV cameras, vehicle density can be easily gauged and monitored. Cleanliness & government worker productivity can easily done through GPS /RFIDs and existent. Why are the cities lagging. How many negligent officers punished. Quality & Maintenance of roads, potholes. Contractors Govt officers penalized sewage cleaning - time table . Y it has to be only pre monsoon & that too at 10 X the cost. Y not frequently Police station under 24*7 remote surveillance. List of criminals residing in the city for safety of citizens Ghettos , slums , High BPL streets, Public place encroachment monitored on all aspects for crimes, drugs, mafia , corruption - drone patrolling ,or even helicopter if military sorties carried out Govt /PSU Schools/Hospitals , cost and quality compared to private, why should they not match the best of India if not the world
