Respected Prime Minister, I am from Himachal Pradesh. I want to highlight a serious issue affecting our environment—illegal tree smuggling. This activity is rapidly depleting our forests and disturbing the ecological balance. Forests are the lungs of our state, and their destruction is worsening the impacts of climate change. Himachal Pradesh is witnessing significant climate changes, including unseasonal rainfall, reduced snowfall, and rising temperatures. These changes are deeply concerning for a state dependent on agriculture, tourism, and natural resources. Forest loss due to smuggling is accelerating these environmental issues. I humbly request you to introduce strict measures to curb wood smuggling and protect our forests. Additionally, I suggest imposing higher taxes on wood-based products to reduce demand and encourage eco-friendly alternatives. Such policies will help preserve forests and mitigate climate change. With your guidance, we can protect our environmet.
