Reservation should be restricted to one person and not his children and shall be discontinued for his children and later. It has been more than three decades since the Panchayati Raj System was organised constitutionally through 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act. Established as a foundation stone for local self government, the system needs to be upgraded in order to achieve the dream of Mahatma Gandhi - establishment of villages as a centre for local self government. I suggest following idea’s which needs to be worked on : 1. Improving the financial autonomy of the PRIs (Panchayati Raj Institutions) 2. Capacity building in terms of administrative and financial control of resources. 3. Reducing the engagement of state politics. 4. State government should work as an regulator by regular auditing of finances and work done by the PRIs 5. Improvements of the democratic status of PRIS 6. Engagement of Private sector in providing services 7. Healthy competitive environment among different PRIs 8. Affordable and consistent access to Information and Communication Technologies Thanks
