The role of institutions of higher education in societal development is becoming increasing significant. In recent years, higher education has isolated itself from the society and there is a need to re-establish and strengthen higher education’s close linkages with the society. How can Universities foster social responsibility and engage in community outreach programmes. Sharing some working examples would also be a useful input.

2.GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS FOR GOVERNMENT WORKERS:- Sir,please see that from top to bottom works in state as well as center must be made as a rule to study in government school. I been a State Government Employee i think it is a best way to avoid donations in big schools. when District Commissioner sends his child to a government school he really looks that the school system of education would be the best and indirectly helps the school to a greater heights.

I here by want to share my view on basic education to all,in the same manner. there should not be a barrier between rich and poor. Sir please give all of us an uniform education system so that a rich man's child and a poor man child study in the same class. Sir it also helps in building a hygienic society. this can be achieved by :- 1.ONE SCHOOL FOR ONE GRAM PANCHAYATH - where all the children's of all sectors join together and learning. which breaks the differences among children's.

I am surprised at the outcome of the education being provided in government schools. I have been mentoring students in maths for last few years and feel pity on students who are not at all motivated and are not worried about knowledge but just marks! When recently I gave an eighth standard maths paper to students of class 9th and 10th, the results were shocking. Teachers expressed their helplessness since many students just don't practice since they know they would get promoted anyway!

Education is the sole permanent solution to problems in our society. Education mean the ability to distinguish good and bad. To link higher education to our society, I think government should make efforts towards involving youth to contribute more in society. Experience counts: more educated and experienced personnel should be deployed to give advice to different people in society. Also their knowledge should be used to address common problems that exist in our society.

Often many institute organize exhibition etc. as a sort of advertisement for their organisation. There should be need to do such activities as required in the place and govt. must look into such models for the development of the place.Unfortunate is that we neglect many indigenous tech and import from out side which may not be practically implacable and in turn become burden and waste of finance.

Salaried class has been taxed more. We try to only save more and spend less. Arun Jaitley Sir, in this budget, we have high hopes on you to make it nil tax up to 5 Lakhs, 10% from 5 Lakh to 15 Lakh and 20% form 15 Lakh to 25 Lakhs and 30% for 25 Lakhs and above earnings. Also please evolve with a better formula to tax adequately for business class and corporate sector. Let this budget be an encouraging one for the middle class & lower class. Please abolish the 'freebies' at centre & state levels
