Skill is never a respected capability in our country, college degree is. In British period a skilled person irrespective his qualification could rise up to the post of Chief Engineer. And a Chief Engineer was in upper level of hierarchy than a Secretary of Govt Dept. A skilled worker in society is in the second lowest level of social c lass just above unskilled worker. Then why any body should be interested to acquire skill? A strong social message is required to bring skill as important factor.

It is imperative to identify future skills needed and rigorously focus on them to keep the work force future relevant, rather than spend money on teaching outdated technology and skills. Skill developing trainers with latest knowledge and institutes with latest work equipments, environment and curriculum in languages that they understand, rather than English. Making people understand the principles and concepts, so that they on their own can think/innovate to keep Indians ahead of the curve.

Skill development program is quite good, just one question if B.E/B.tech students after completion of four years course, clearing all internal and external exams, endless assignments, projects and all still needs to take help of skill development programs for getting job then what is the use of all above, huge amount of fee, so called famous colleges, and lastly engineering degree. Skill development program should be run in colleges only so that students need not to suffer for jobs #MyGov,#MSDE

It's good that govt has thought of skill development. We must teach efficiency, integrity and Cleanliness from nursery . If skill is there. But there is no point if efficiency and integrity is absent .

Our education is based on left brain . If we turn that into right brain , that is creativity , play based , dance base, music base or how they are going to apply in day to day life . Skill will be enhance like anything . We should not learen just for marks and certificate . Some children don't have ability to mug up the text . But practically they can do much better .
