Service tax
People still think Life insurance as a savings instrument. Yield on Life insurance premium is very low, service tax makes it still low. It makes the life insurance products less attractive.
If one dies without insurance, the burden will be on the government. Hence to motivate people to buy insurance, service tax should be removed atleast until a proper awareness about life insurance is achieved.
By removing service tax, more money can be collected for infrastructure development.

Greetings.
This is with reference to SERVICE TAX.
I humbly suggest that the service tax charged on Life insurance premium should be removed. Because...
- Life insurance awareness among public is still low. When we add load to the premium by way of service tax, it makes the sale still more difficult.
- If it can not be removed, slab system like in that of Income tax can be introduced.
We can fix certain limit of premium up to which no service tax should be charged.

Respected Sir,The serviceTax on Life Insurance may be reconsidered in view of larger approach of SocialSecurity.Govt encourages to buy life ins.& offer I-Tax rebate on premia.Ser.Tax on Health Ins is high & may discourage people to avail this facility. In pension plan ser.tax debars people to purchase the same.Imposition of Ser.tax at Very low rate/no ser. tax on life ins, health ins and pension can be most beneficial for larger section of the society & it'll take care of SocialSecurity aspect.
