Something should be done seriously about Specialisation at least from 7th std right now the education system is like trade of all but master of non.
For eg. My daughter plays Table Tennis and she won the medals in State and National Level competitions. This year she is in SSLC and for passing purpose all 7 subjects she has to study and actually 4 out of 7 subjects are useless for the feature she has chosen.

There is an urgent need to scrap the no detention policy till class 8th since this is leading to a drastic fall in academic standards. Students have little incentive to learn due to this policy and the country will be burdened by unskilled manpower in the years to come.

No one to Fail.
What ever development, display it. Assign the certificate.
Don't say all to pass, instead say none to fail.

Allow students to bring one page write up of what ever they wish into the exam hall. At the same time let us make the questios more creative. In one strike it will eliminate cheating problems and law and order issue. It will be win-win situation. In most countries this practice is followed.

For students focus should be shifted from testing the knowledge in time limit to just testing the knowledge.Focus should be given more on assignments and group work.Teachers should pay a lot more attention to the matter written than the presentation. Many people nowdays may get high grades solely because of the way they write not because what they write and that's due to lackluster correction.

Please watch Parakh Education Portal( www.parakh.me ) Mobile App demo, which deals with student health, academic portfolio and analytics. Why I am sharing this ? This is purely a non profit voluntary effort to contribute back to the society a part of our success. If this is shared across the schools/teachers, we are hoping that this will play important role in day to day life of teachers/students and motivate many others to initiate voluntary efforts and give back to the society.

the motive behind CCE should be made clear to teachers & parents, & should be implemented properly after giving proper training to all.
examination system should give importance to skills developed in a child
skills should not be assessed on paper, instead should be done practically
questions should be application oriented (curriculum should be application oriented)
examinations should be confidence building to students
full pass up to 8th should be removed
