Do not make brain a knowledge bank, leave it as a thinking machine, do not make it rote machine. Let the book be source of knowledge and develop the brain to utilize the knowledge and to impart new thinking into it. so that in future, if our generation study book in any subject, they should feel proud that everything has been tried, searched, developed, invented in India, not in foreign countries.

No one talking about main issue: Main issue is not What to teach and What to test, main issue is How to teach and How to test.
There should be cleared policy about that so that critical thinking about subjects can be developed in students and students can think themselves to solve problem. The examination system should not be based on memorizing power, but on thinking skill and marking should not be so rigid to loose the confidence of student.

Every one has right to send their children where ever they want them to study. We can't force any one to study in Govt. school by rule. Govt. employee students are not stuff for your experimentation. I have some other ideas, please visit: http://qr.ae/dvbtX

My other opinion is if government will make policy that every government employee's children must be study in government school then you will get positive & effective result very soon. By doing this the main thing will happen that the standard of gov.schools will improve & every family monthly burden will reduce . At present time education is very costly due to no rules & regulations on private school's fee structure. only by this one step u will solve 75% problems of every middle class family.

contd.
Students should be given choice among Geography/civics/economics but major portion should contain HISTORY(80+20),rich and vast description about our glorious past!
*We can SAVE millions of sheets of paper if question papers are printed in Hindi version for Hindi medium and in English for English medium students.Printing both languages is complete wastage of time and resources.
I m a teacher with more than 25+ years of exp. thanks.

school education is really in mess now a days. CBSE needs to revise and update the syllabus and keep a check on the examination system. Schools should not be allowed to conduct exams with their own date sheet and question papers as repetition of question papers and no transparency in checking is leading to chaos. There should be only ONE final examination( may be 2 hour two papers ) comprising MCQs/ true/ false / analytic /mental aptitude/ etc. CCE system has ruined the system.

now a days teacher are not in a position a read and correct the exam paper thoroughly before giving marks to an answer especially theory papers. what ever the answer he/she writes just they think that they have written a page full to satisfy the required words to the answer or just fill up the booklet.
i have studied in different places of south india from 1 class to pg. the above specified answer is applied to me in my education life

Continued...Parents started giving me lectures on how to teach i.e. force them to memorize the subjects so that she can secure good marks. I was hopelessly failed because she won't listen to me when I say her to mug up something.

I would give an example, when I was asked (when I was in college) to give a tuition to a Class 1 who was securing very low marks in class. When I teach science (which is my favorite subject), she would listen to me full heartedly and actively participate with me. But this was not acceptable by their parents. Because they want their child to secure good marks. Whether the child learn something or not does not matter.
