Examination reforms that focus on problem-solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills are critical to improving quality at the secondary level. Such reforms will change the teaching–learning processes and improve learning outcomes. In recent years, CBSE has introduced wide-ranging examination reforms in schools affiliated to it, such as Class X Board Examination has been made optional, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been strengthened so that the students, are assessed on an ongoing basis for their holistic development, a system of grading in place of marks has been introduced. The objectives are to look at the existing systems and suggest reforms which would help better assessment of students.

Please create a independent government Examination body till 10th like we do for civil service examinations. Suppose my kid is very intelligent and I am capable of teaching him why I need to go to school and pay him the fees rather then I can teach my child and he can appear in the examination directly. It will help to save money for higher studies and will decrease the monopoly if the schools whose fees are not controllable by government.

At present we are having semester system, it must be removed. Children have immense burden of exams. The examination system should be similar to that which was prevailing during 60s. In that child has to learn every topic thoroughly for the exams. So his over all development was excellent. But nowadays we are given BLUEPRINTS,PAPERSTYLES which has made children to learn only specific content so his over all development has hindered.

Dear All, I believe the Government should have strict checks and balance for teachers as well in tidiness for students. As most of the students come poor family student should me made comfortable and easiness which can have only on the teaching method and the kind of examination pattern. Instead of having exam once in year let it be simpler at least half yearly or Quarterly basis where all the numbers can be aggregated at the year end, and after each exam teacher should evaluate and consult

1.Smart examination system must be devised which would assess students in regular basis. 2.Examination pattern must be such that concepts, logical thinking, critical thinking, brain storming & technical approach of students could be determined. 3.Instead of replacing boards a marking system should be developed which would comprise 40% marks of boards, 40% of Summative assessments(bi-annual & pre-boards) and 20% for Formative Assessments. Examination msut comprise of fresh & not repeated question

Why not make exams subject specific rather than time specific atlast in higher secondary. If a student feels confident he or she should be able to write that exam at any time of the year. City specific or district wise exam centres should be set up independent of the board which would test the knowledge of a student in a subject as and then he is ready. Question pa
