Examination reforms that focus on problem-solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills are critical to improving quality at the secondary level. Such reforms will change the teaching–learning processes and improve learning outcomes. In recent years, CBSE has introduced wide-ranging examination reforms in schools affiliated to it, such as Class X Board Examination has been made optional, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been strengthened so that the students, are assessed on an ongoing basis for their holistic development, a system of grading in place of marks has been introduced. The objectives are to look at the existing systems and suggest reforms which would help better assessment of students.

my view is that we shd once again revert our old system of examination where students were detained. the idea of promoting students upto class VIII is producing youth who cannot even write and read as they know that even without doing anything they would pass. 10th class board was a good filter system. another point is that scholarships are provided to all students,even to failures. like this we are producing youth who gets everything free without any efforts n freebies have no value

'Examination is a necessary Evil'which need to be reduced to the minimum.The light of inner spirit has been dimmed now-a-days by the artificial and mechanical methods of Testing rather than bringing out the real potentials of the educands who are fidgeting in the commercialisation of Education.

Pass fail system in primary school should start again so that students can make their base strong and will not face difficulties in higher classes.

If the same stress on obtaining marks and passing for the heck of it continues, we will still be producing the same citizens who rarely care about nature, other people and their nation, and the whole earth.The first 5 years of learning should be more of learning the basic sciences through experimentation and observation. It should also be about moral education and teaching values of life and of course sports.

I couldnot understand the necessity of making changes to the examination system, making it so easy that it defeats the purpose. If examinations are to be taken seriously by children scoring should be well defined logical and not a cakewalk. Let us not forget that the greatest scientists, thinkers and intellectual geniuses were the result of the older system of education and examination. If the older system can produce such worthy people, why change the system? Kindly abolish CCE.

We do not need to complicate things at the primary level bringing grades, or board exams or aptitude tests. Effort should be more on making them interested in various sciences and nature, so that when time comes (at the secondary level) they are willing to learn it themselves.

Bookish knowledge alone is of no use if it is not combined with visual and practical experiences. We are just wasting our and their(Children's) time. Makes no sense in the long run.

Some revolutionary changes are required for creating good individuals. Usually kendriya vidyalayas have enough land. They can teach children how to farm and they can learn how to grow vegetables and fruits on that land. This will not only make them self sufficient, but also respect nature and learn science through it. Learning of science should be more through practicals and on the field. I have seen toppers in my organization who forget what they learnt in the previous year.

Answer scripts of SA1 ans SA2 tests from Class 9, 10,11,12 of all KV should be evaluated by the teachers from other schools to bring free and fair result and without any partiality and bias. Internal assessment marks should not be more than 10% of the total marks.

Will the CBSE Board exam for class 10 students be made compulsory for 2015-2016 session? If yes, why there is no circular yet in this regard to make the students mentally/academically prepared for it from the beginning of the session from 1st April 2015? If no, please make the system free of manipulations of the marks/grades by individual schools to achieve false performance credits.
