To effectively integrate the tribal people with the national economy, it is very important that they are never considered as fringe groups of Indians placed under a ‘Schedule’. The ‘Schedule’ is nothing but an action plan in the national effort for such integration. That plan must be supplemented by other means of bringing all Indians together, one of them being dissemination of the tribal folk-lore and stories. For example, the book ‘Raj Kahini’ by Shree Abanindranath Tagore, a Bengali translation of the anthology of Rajput lore by Mr. James Todd, included in the school curriculum in Bengal, brought the Rajputs close to the hearts of the children of Bengal. Similar anthologies by Indians are woefully few, though commendable work is going on in Odisha. Today’s tribal scholars are commanding mainstream languages. For taking up such work, they need encouragement about good reception of their books on their traditional lore and stories. Some books may be included in the school-curriculum.

give them work or employment so that they can bhuil their own bussiness nad other people inspire from that and they also started working in large bussinesses. So that the people will respect them as they were doing good job than them. And they will come above poverty line and next generation do not have to suffer alot

Tribal art is enjoying a rising demand and the mode of presentation such as framing/show-casing has improved. Fair price and royalty to the artists must be ensured. Now the challenge is to maintain the original ethnic simplicity of the artefacts as modernity interferes. The traditional methods of preparing colours and the tools must remain unchanged. Training by only traditional masters has to continue. The global reach of tribal art can be extended if it is well accepted for corporate décor e.g. the Indian air-transport companies selecting from samples of tribal art, the outside and inside decor of their aircrafts deployed in domestic and international flights. The charm of tribal art will surely win hearts across the world. A word of caution: certain tribal artefacts (e.g. clay figures), attractive as home-décor, have religious significance and must not be used/marketed as mere decorative objects. Remember our pain at the commercial abuse of Lord Ganesha
