The strings of India's development have been inseparably attached to the success of its Textiles sector. The industry's symbiotic relationship with agriculture widens the range of beneficiaries.

•4.5 crore people are directly employed while another 6 crores are indirectly in this sector with a considerable stake of women and rural population.

•5% of the global trade in textiles and apparel is to India's credit.

•India's centuries-old knowledge and expertise in this sector have positioned it as the world's 2nd largest manufacturer and exporter with a 12% share in total exports (2018-19).

And now we, at the Textiles Ministry have our sights set on achieving global leader status for India. Government under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has been pushing for innovation and incentives to realise the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by bolstering exports, quality & productivity, competitiveness, technology up-gradation, research & development, and training & skill development in this industry.

Now, we are keen to listen to the suggestions of Industry experts, innovators, students, business leaders, and all other contributors to this sector to expedite our mission. As we mark the 75th year of India's Independence, we want you to have an increased stake in the success of the Textiles industry.

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th August 2021.

Dear Pradhan Mantri Ji, thanm you for encouraging us to provide out inputs. As a lady who is crazy about handwoven sarrees, getting the genuine thing at a reasonable price holds paramount importance. However for beauties like Assam Silk, Benarasi, Madhubani Painted Tussars, Pure Silk Kantha Stitch, Venkatgiri Silks et all, the challenge is where to get them from Syate empriums like Jharcraft, Rajasthali, Mrignayanee can go a long way to help.

The traditional handloom sectors are suffering a lot due to this to market their products . It should be made mandatory for these co -op shops to buy a minimum percentage of handloom products . Also we can encourage them by procurement to defence canteens . Educate them value addition to their produc

🙏🙏All in one platform should be created for every citizen of India who were interested to grow up in the textile business that is a single window system from supplying raw material +weaving +designing +packaging + purchasing +consumer satisfaction + profits. Like agriculture will get msp from gov. Like skill india an aspirant geting support from gov. In the same way persons who were using traditional methods since generations unable to merchandise their art it should be exposed to the world.

Indian textile designing and cultural outfits must be imposed instead of western. Village ladies are expert in embroidery, knitting, stitching. But there too western dresses are preferred. Why can't Indian dress culture produced in market which was very decent in old time. Cotton fabric is less found in market, in that too synthetic is mixed up. Cotton is the best fabric and tk make it attractive embroidery can be done. With this women entrepreneurs can be enhanced for economic growth, villages

sir , I have planned the textile international exhibition center during 2003 to 2004 in Kachch area after the earthquake 2001. This was for purely based on natural colored and this our old technology need the latest technological support as well as the for export point of view. These material have very good demand from UK and other western countries. After that nothing has been materialized. Heartily request to look after this matter since it is matter of local Cartesian socio-economic status.
