Recently, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the webinar on effective implementation of the Union Budget provisions in the defence sector. During his address, the Prime Minister said that the webinar was of great significance as it focused on the important issue of making the country’s defence sector self-reliant.

The Prime Minister said that the defence corridors that are being built in the country today would also help local entrepreneurs and local manufacturing. That is, today, self-sufficiency in our defence sector has to be seen as the empowerment of these two fronts – “Jawan as well as Youth”.

The key announcements in the Union Budget related to Defence Sector are as follows and we seek ideas and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders on the same:
• Budgeted expenditure for capital outlay in defence increased by approx. 19%, highest in 15 years
• Disinvestment aimed in the sector to increase opportunities for private players
• Reduction in customs duty rates to nil for import of parts by public sector units (under Ministry of Defence) for manufacturing of aircrafts and parts

We are the largest democracy in the world. But we are also the largest defence importers of the world. Despite having such a big need for defence products, we do not manufacture them. Why? Our imports strengthen the economy of arms exporting countries. Arms dealers become power dealers. The commission culture grows. Those in government who do not follow their line have to go. Can Make In India bring India out of this dilemma?

well well if daood ibrahim live in karachi than send 1 nuclear missile, means if killer of hindu hide in city than citywill pay for it let 30lakh or 1crore people died, i am sick and tired of listening isi send terrorist trouble in kashmir total 40000 people died in kashmir military and add it to pandit women raped and displace than send 1 nuclear missile to isi military headquarter finish them all and u will help poor pakistani this is military like congress and enjoy and dont care for poor

पीएम ने कहा, 'ऐसा नहीं है कि भारत के लोगों में प्रतिभा और सामर्थ्य नहीं है। हमारी सरकार ने अपने इंजीनियरों-वैज्ञानिकों और तेजस की क्षमताओं पर भरोसा किया और आज तेजस शान से आसमान में उड़ान भर रहा है।' कुछ सप्ताह पहले ही तेजस के लिए 48 हजार करोड़ रुपये का ऑर्डर दिया गया है। उन्होंने कोरोना काल को लेकर वेंटिलेटर का जिक्र किया। मोदी ने कहा, 'जब कोरोना शुरू हुआ था तब भारत एक भी वेंटिलेटर नहीं बनाता था। आज भारत हजारों वेंटिलेटर का निर्माण कर रहा है।'

पीएम मोदी ने रक्षा क्षेत्र में बजट प्रावधानों के प्रभावी कार्यान्वयन के लिए आयोजित वेबिनार को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, भारत के पास हथियार, सैन्य उपकरण बनाने का सदियों पुराना अनुभव है, लेकिन स्वतंत्रता के बाद इस क्षमता को मजबूत नहीं किया गया। भारत अब अपनी क्षमताओं को तेजी से बढ़ाने के लिए अब प्रतिबद्ध है। उन्होंने कहा, भारत 40 से ज्यादा देशों को अभी रक्षा उपकरणों का निर्यात कर रहा है।
