There are several coffee shops and restaurants , who in guise of feedback card and before giving bill ask for mobile no , mail id , birth date ,anniversary date , address , spouse name , of customers which need to be restricted ,as if there data is hacked or pilfered thru staff ,consumer may have to suffer ,as seen from cyber crimes , also big entity like nbfc bank , psu , ask for various income , project , account related data ,which majorly if loan not sanctioned can be misused by anyone

There’s a thin line between personal and non personal data. Like I say my mobile phone is personal whereas govt can say that it must reflect on the asset side of my income tax file. First specify very explicitly what are categorized as personal data and what as non-personal data then only we can give suggestions

Generally all data taken of us by authority or marketing or service oriented cos are always mixed ,including personal and non personal data ,though some data are not required ,for said purpose , govt need to frame rules for such agencies first ,which agency is entitle to how much data of a person ,for said purpose ,as data leak starts from source , post that what framework does such agency have to protect it , and to what extent and for what purpose they can use it ,
