The Government of India has been formulating National Housing Policies to provide guidance to the State Governments to meet the growing housing shortage. The first every Housing Policy was announced in May, 1988. The National Urban Housing and Habitat Policy (NUHHP), 2007 is currently under force. A copy of the same is available at http://mhupa.gov.in/policies/duepa/HousingPolicy.2007.pdf. It is desired that the existing policy be revised to reflect the changes in the past years and taking forward the objective of “Housing for All” by 2022.

In this regard inputs are elicited for new “National Urban Housing and Habitat Policy, 2015” on the following:

1. What should be the role of Government of India in promoting “Housing for All” by 2022?
2. What should the State Governments do in achieving the said objective?
3. What should be the role of ULBS’s?
4. What role can the State Housing Boards/Corporations and other state entities play in this objective?
5. What are the key learnings from Urban Local Bodies in implementation of housing programmes?
6. What role can the private sector play in “Housing for All” by 2022?
7. What is the role of industries?
8. What should be the role of individual?
9. How to mobilize financial resources for this objective?
10. What kind of legal and regulatory frameworks are required to facilitate housing in general and “Housing for All” in particular?
11. How can more urban land be made available for housing?
12. How can linkage between employment/livelihood and housing be made more robust?
13. How to promote new building technologies for faster, robust, sustainable and environment friendly homes especially mass housing?

1. The housing policy shall strengthen Building laws. 2. There must be building codes more so to prevent natural disasters. 3. The Urban housing shall take care of Playgrounds in neighbourhood, which is fast vanishing from urban landscape, it is other than green space. 4. Agriculture Land Conversion in Productive land shall be discouraged 5. The new housing policies are focused towards Market and less socialistic . socialistic non transferable housing scheme shall be linked to Adhar card.

First and formost Govt has to create national housing bank which can give loans for housing at reasonable interest and we can also make use of stock exchange and income generated should be used for making houses for BPL families. This bank should also make land pool in every city for housing. Every person can have one house in the city. Thehouses should be of desigen consulting with arch of cheap value and enviormently friendly. The houses should make use of proper sunlight to have energy effi.

Today agriculture land is decreasing only due To rising boundry of cities . So as agriculture is helping in generating almost 25% of gdp .so expanding cities should be discourage and cities should be made where there is no scope of agriculture.

Problem-Many families do not own home due to increasing rates. Builder and agent lobby are controlling the pricing but not the government. Solution - Families who do not own home should get 95% - 98% home loan with lowest interest. Families who own home and still want another home should be charge with heavy taxes because these people are investors for builders, builders get the money to build the structure from these people. It is difficult to put ideas in 500 words there should more wordlimit

Today we see in almost every place and cities that things are unorganized in such a way that it creates mess and moreover valuable resource are not being utilized properly hence result at atari breakout and ruination. Many of the people do not have their own houses, I would like to request government to Plan the architecture before investment and implementation so that most valuable resource can be utilized at its optimum capacity and value.

A report in 2012 found that approx. 26 million urban households in India can't afford housing, and expect the number to reach 40 million by 2028. Since cities are estimated to contribute nearly two-thirds to our economic growth, adequate supply of affordable urban housing is critical for sustaining high growth rates. As part of efforts to achieve the goal of “affordable housing for all”, the National Urban Housing and Habitat Policy, 2007, mandates the reservation of 10-20%.Emphasis to be laid.

Dear ModI Sir The LAAR ordinance is very crucial for india. Sir please do not back out. 300 million people will migrate to cities by 2030. 85% tax revenue will be from there. We must plan for them. Where will they live ? We need new cities. Moreover they will only payback the loans which we have taken to give subsidies today. It will be gross injustice towards them if we don't plan for them. Sir please speak up on this issue. Explain to the people that its for their benefit only
