The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

1. Priority on good sanitation system through construction of toilets at required places and the land marks of which can be easily judged by finding the urinated places at even restricted areas. 2. Good roads with parking, under ground electrical cable system 3. All time electricity, water supply system

Maintenance of clean and hygienic environment. Good public parks. proper power and water supply. Strict rules to be implemented so as to make the city smart. Proper roads with foot paths. Maintenance of strict traffic rules. Development of industries.

1. An effective law and order to catch hold road rule breakers not to influence through any politicians. 2. Effective policing in most of the places to maintain law and order to avoid theft, chain snatchers, murders etc. 3. To acquire the land and sites of illegal ways and to implement a law - If any of the land or sites are not constructed within two or three years, should be acquired by the government and to hand over the same to house-less people to lead their life smart.

1.Pigs must be cleaned from the city 2.Proper road constructions must be done. 3.Implimentation of well planned drainage system. 4.Programmes must be carried to maintain a pollution free city 5.Health facilities must be improved 6.Rain water harvesting must be implimented 7.Parks must be maintained well

To accommodate health care centers at required places including ambulance of 24x7 services. Segregation and treatment of solid waste through privatization for corruption free service. On spot inspection and vigilance at every places for consistency of implemented projects. Recruitment of right qualified officers at right places.
