This concept is a boon for CBD. We should encash whole heartedly. CIDCO has done basic framework. Following features will add value addition to smart city.
1) solar water heating facility.
2) Conserving and storing rain water.
3) Electricity supply for 24 by 7.
4) Improving water supply by plugging leakages.
5) Govt approval for 2.5 FSI is an additional benefit. Developers should be encouraged for this in new construction.
6) WI-FI in new Bombay will plus point for residents.

I agree to the point that Navi Mumbai is a great city. No doubt the stations complexes are good and safe for commuters. But, not the condition of the trains. Having the best stations but the worst trains isn't justified. My point is that the harbour line is not yet developed. Where the western and central have reached 12 coaches, this is still at 9. Not well ventilated, sometimes stinky. And too conjested. I hope the NMMC notes this point and bring it to the notice of railway department.

Education:
Each school , goverment or private , should keep one classroom open to general public for reading purpose daily including sundays and public holidays from 9 am to 9 pm .
This will inculcate a habit of reading in children and adults.
Also this should be publisised in the locality.

Rail Travel:
Rail travel should be senior citizen friendly. Each station should have escalators for them to reach the platforms.
Each coach should have a senior citizen coach in Harbour line so that they can travel in ease. Many Senior citizens may tend to avoid rail travel because of lack of senior citizen friendly amenities .
