If the traffic could be controlled a bit better, Newtown and Rajarhat would be simply perfect as a smart city. I hope the constructions are completed soon to make this happen!

Government should provide financial assistance to use solar power and should guide to field solar products that are commercially competitive.
Free consultation for implementing solar power products should be provided by government to make smart cities energy independent by harnessing renewable energy.

Solid waste management system and waste water management system has to be designed and planned at an early stage to ensure smart cities remain clean. Energy required to maintain these systems should be harnessed from solar energy.
Proper water catchment survey should be done and water drainage systems should be designed to meet peak rain conditions to prevent water logging.

And to call such vehicles from any residence within New Town at any point of time, we need a mobile application with the help of which we would be able to call our vehicle. You may even keep a subscription charge of the 'application (app)' to prevent misuse of this system.

since New Town is a modern city, it has a bigger area & spread. Hence, to go to any shop or clinic or pharmacy or market from a particular residence, one needs to travel / walk / drive / bike comparatively a much longer distance than that in an older, more congested city. hence, we need a large number of energy-efficient small vehicles which would ply within the city i.e. intra-New Town.
