The temple city of Tirupati has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the potential 100 smart cities in India. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation is currently working on upgrading its proposals for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to prioritise the areas for intervention. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati are requested to examine the earlier proposals in detail and identify The gaps in the light of the Guidelines / Generic gaps issued by the MOUD and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure. It is expected that the citizens participate in this exercise and help Tirupati successfully traverse the path of transforming itself in to a Smart.

Importance of Science Museum, Heritage, Culture, Vedic Patashala should be given an importance in the proposal. Because these are among the strongest Pillars for Tirupati.

With reference to the sky walk proposed from railway to srinivasam, there may be lot hurdles such as it becomes a night shelter for beggars and goons. Kindly modify.

Improve the efficiency by using modern technologies in Door-to-Door collection of Solid Waste and develop the drainage system

7. The SMART City Proposal Round 1 was a great work and I appreciate the Municipal Corporation Tirupati and supporting agencies both government and non-government. Now I would suggest decreasing the size of area to be less than 700 acres or so, which will cover the Govinda Raj Swamy Temple, Pushkarini and major Transport hub of Tirupati.

Understanding the climate change impact, more tress should be planted across the streets to have a healthy environment which can reduce the heat impact

Tirupati is strategically located near Bengaluru and Chennai, development along these corridors should increase the footfall to tirupati and can generate revenue.
