The temple city of Tirupati has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the potential 100 smart cities in India. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation is currently working on upgrading its proposals for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to prioritise the areas for intervention. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati are requested to examine the earlier proposals in detail and identify The gaps in the light of the Guidelines / Generic gaps issued by the MOUD and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure. It is expected that the citizens participate in this exercise and help Tirupati successfully traverse the path of transforming itself in to a Smart.

Smart cities must be with full of tress. Without tress we will be simply wasting our hard earned money for AC due to rise in temperature, for buying water, for medical due to pollution etc., please plan the smart cities accordingly. We are creating this smart city and we create it however we want. Plan the cities so that we can live close with nature.
