Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

24 X 7 Traffic Signal Illumination should be provided by the Police Department on all Junctions and Intersections and heavy traffic roads supported by CCTV Surveillance

सड़के पक्की बन जाये , हर जगह टॉयलेट की साफ व्यवस्था हो, रोज़गार हो, दुस्बिन हो जगह जगह , पानी साफ आये बैकवर्ड एरिया में जड़ा काम हो

शहर में सीएनजी सिटी बसें चलाई जाये | इ सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराइ जाये | वाई फाई जैसे साधनो को बढ़ावा दिया जाना चाहिए शहर में गैर पारम्परिक ऊर्जा स्त्रोतों को प्रोत्साहन की आवश्यकता है | जल अपव्यय करने वालो पर जुरमाना लगाना चाहिए |

शासकीय सभी सेवाओं को पब्लिक के लिये आँनलाईन किया जाना चाहिये । आवास पशु सड़क पर न घूम पाये । सड़के एवं ट्रेफिक दुरूस्त हो ।

शहर को सवच बनाने के लिए हर १०० मीटर पर डस्टबीन होना चाहिए | सभी सड़को पर उत्तम लाइट की व्यवस्था होना चाहिए | यातायात साधन उत्तम होना चाहिए | पार्किंग की उत्तम व्यवस्था हों

first easy step for smart city: renovating/repainting so many of the old, ugly shops/buildings... people really judge a book by its cover... sewage management, drainage system, proper building regulations, emergency response system including better emergency life support availability in all hospitals, more efficient management of traffic and better and more efficient public transport system to reduce private vehicles.. Cable Car should be started near the ghats

Effective implementation of building guidelines and construction rules as the city  We have to replace our street lights with LED. This will definitly lower our consumptions of electricity. Introduction of alternative renewable power supply like solar and wind energy would seem like a viable option (apart from many) for the development of smart Varanasi city
