1932 Allahabad In the process of collecting the funds for presenting a purse to Gandhi, Young Vinodini Sinha stormed the awe-inspiring portal of authority, the kotwali, to extract a donation from the kotwal himself. The kotwal was completely dumbfounded at the audacity of this young woman! But when he pleaded that he was a government servant of the British and could not be expected to donate money for Gandhi, she calmly informed him that he was also an Indian. She won her point.

There are people who have fought for independence but unfortunately they are lost to time, even their stories. Their families are long forgotten, new faces have come up but as humane numans, all we can do is give a grand salute to all those who laid down their lives do that we breathe free.
