Panaji is selected as the Smart City in Goa under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), GoI’s Smart City Mission. Panaji is required to formulate its own unique vision, mission and plan under ‘Smart City Challenge’. The Proposal shall be prepared in consultation with the stakeholders of the city. Corporation of City of Panaji urges all the citizens of Goa to share their opinion and area of improvement to make “Panaji” a Smart City.

The first question arises is "What do you mean by Smart City". Good Roads, Good Infrastructure, Healthy Environment, Good Transport. These are all secondary things. The first thing that needs to make a city into SMART CITY is "PUBLIC AWARENESS". The basic mentality of a human being needs to be changed. What's the point in keeping my house clean and garbaging my surroundings. This is the tendency of every human being all over India. This is the first thing that needs CHANGE.

When it comes to smartness #Panaji is far lagging behind interms of #egovernance and citizen engagement.Instead of going for heavy investment projects which are not necessary, #Panaji should concentrate on current problem's its facing and go for #SmartParking #smart Solid waste management Techniques and #smart #PublicTransport, conservation of #Heritage houses which will make Panaji more tourism friendly. Also the technology to be selected should prove to be efficient in #Indian Context.

#Panaji was one city which could not take any benefit of JnNURM scheme.Firstly #Panaji should concentrate on capacity building to take full advantage of Central Govt.schemes such as #SmartCity and #AMRUT. Also the different implementation agencies like Corporation of the City of Panaji #CCP and Goa State infrastructure development corporation #GSIDC or Goa State Urban Development Authority #GSUDA should come to a common conclusion to take full advantage of the scheme unlike #Gujarat #Maharashtra

#Panaji Build a canal from the River Mandovi to the Hotel Mandovi Road and through to the Market area. This should obliterate the existing road and provide a Venetian way. Similar canals to Porvorim and Talegaon would make it a great and cheap transportation. A deviation could be overbridges on the canal with open air grids in between to provide for road transport as well. Expand the existing bridges from bus stand to Rua de ourem without disturbing the architecture.

In respect to smart city concept,business,economic,infrastructure development are OK, but, the real development of social harmony,human development,cultural development, etc.things are very important for peace,harmony and fruitfull helping nature of people.For that,there should be YOGA,SPIRITUAL,PRAYER CENTRE in CITY.There should be no crime & no accused,Jail should be paid & luxurious with all accommodation like AC,bed-sofa,pure bhojan-breakfast,TV but no mobile-net as per jail manual strictly

we need to mail proposed guideline to school/collage for topic project,display slide show of foreign country management of smart city,we need to preserve our cultural identity,let collages groups suggest innovative ideas since they resident in place of development,our planner work will be more unique perfect and fast.
