Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

The Gandhi Market area in the city should be restructured into a single complex. Automated Multi-level parking facility must be implemented in that area to reduce traffic congestion. Hap-hazhard vehicular movements should be controlled. Cycling tracks should be laid in the main city as well as separate pedestrian walk ways. Create more recreation spaces inside the city and improve existing parks. Existing parks are not attractive to many. Mono rail connecting srirangam-thiruverumbur-Thuvakudi.

In #Tiruchirappalli major problem is Lack of Integrated Bus Stand kindly consider this, But As a Smart City need several developments concentrating on 1)Roads 2)E-Governance to Public 3)Sewage Treatment 4)Mono-rail 5)Integrated Smart Card(which can be used For several Facilities For Ex:During travel of bus,Monorail,etc; E-Kiosks and information Center can be used for top-up and registration of Smart Card) 6)Usage of 500 Acre land for an Integrated Township with IT based in Several Sector

5) Bring in Intra City Train Services using Metro or Mono Rail to connect to (a) Tanjore (b) Vallam (c) Kumbakonam (d) Karur (e) Nammakal (f) Musiri (g) Viralimalai (h) Pudukottai (i) Mannaparai (k) Dindugal (l) Thuraiyur (m) Perambalur (n) Valladi (o) Lalgudi and (p) Ariyalur

4) Bring in Metro Or Mono Rail which can connect (a) Airport With all parts of the City (b) Connect the Bus Terminal with other service areas (c) Connect Tidal Park with the City (d) Connect BHEL & NIT with the City (e) Connect Historic or Temple city areas like Sri Rangam, TV Kovil, Samayapuram.

Infrastructure Need for the People for the above said services to prosper 1) Bring in Govt Bus to fly all over the City (remove Private Buses) 2) Bring the Roads to International Standard (without pot holes), which should ease congestion, and make people have fun while traveling. 3) Try to build a new Bus Terminal with International Standard
