The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), U.T, Chandigarh has taken serious cognizance of the increasing pollution levels in the airs of the city. Pollution occurs in many forms including Air, Water, Soil & Noise pollution.

The CPCC has expressed serious concern over the contamination of the overall environment as the sources of pollution don't simply have a negative impact on the natural world, but also have a measurable effect on the health of human beings also.

In this direction, the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee has decided to engage the citizens of the city for their invaluable suggestions/ideas/opinions/practical solutions to put a check on increasing levels of all types of pollution in Chandigarh.

The CPCC hereby appeals to the city residents to participate in huge number in order to equip the CPCC with more and more innovative and practical solutions/ideas (which are implementable) to curb the problems arising out of different kind of pollution.

Dear Prime Minister..firstly all good wishes to you. Since independence so many PM and Govt. have come and gone but till this hour nobody have thought deeply and sincerely about disabled person particularly those who have struggled hard to be educated without any govt.backing and support. I appeal to you to please increase the tax concessions to disabled person from 1.25l to about 5l so that hes not disheartened and depressed and being in this position he can save some money for his/her old age.

A Humble request to you that we should also think about Light pollution in Chandigarh. we have installed high illuminating bulbs and halogen lights in all over city which is also a pollutant just like noise. It disturbs natural habitat of birds and animals at night time. we should reduce light or manage it with optimum use to reduce harmful effect on animals and birds. Lights in parks, street or along road should be covered on upper side to reduce its effect on trees where birds reside.

I think one of the most important factor contributing to pollution around is vehicular traffic. Now Vehicular traffic does not just arise because of the increase in vehicles plying on road but it also increases by the traffic Jams. It multiplies when a journey which is to take 30 minutes takes 1 hour. In modern day we need to bring down this number by improving the traffic signals. By not just relying on static/constant signal. Read my blog harnishatulshah.blogspot.com to understand more.

Water is polluted by human waste. The current Sewage water treatment plant just add more oxygen and send them to the rivers for disposal. If the waste is segregated and decomposed to make fertilizer then it will reduce the need for fertilizer, water ways are protected. costly fertilizer import is reduced. Fact is human waste contains 70% water. Dewatering the waste removes harmful virus and bacteria. Urine have much needed urea which is imported in millions of tons.

The most polluting thing anybody could imagine is fertilizer manufacturing industry as they they are polluting land, air, water all with great amount. i don't know why they exist if we are so concern about pollution control if we have them. stop them or reduce there productivity. introduce organic substitutes. this is what my suggestion is.
