The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), U.T, Chandigarh has taken serious cognizance of the increasing pollution levels in the airs of the city. Pollution occurs in many forms including Air, Water, Soil & Noise pollution.

The CPCC has expressed serious concern over the contamination of the overall environment as the sources of pollution don't simply have a negative impact on the natural world, but also have a measurable effect on the health of human beings also.

In this direction, the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee has decided to engage the citizens of the city for their invaluable suggestions/ideas/opinions/practical solutions to put a check on increasing levels of all types of pollution in Chandigarh.

The CPCC hereby appeals to the city residents to participate in huge number in order to equip the CPCC with more and more innovative and practical solutions/ideas (which are implementable) to curb the problems arising out of different kind of pollution.

1. Find a suitable places in the city which may be converted to a park with lots of trees which will in turn be a leisure place and also sustains ecology. Try organic products instead Compost your yard waste instead of burning it. Outdoor burning is not advisable, as it pollutes air. Breathing this smoke is bad for you, your family and your neighbors. Plus, you can use the compost in your garden.

(i) Use of better designed equipment and smokeless fuels, hearths in industries and at home. (ii) Automobiles should be properly maintained and adhere to recent emission-control standards. (iii) More trees should be planted along road side and houses. (iv) Renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar energy, ocean currents, should fulfill energy needs. (v) Tall chimneys should be installed for vertical dispersion of pollutants. At Home: 1. Avoid using chemical pesticides

Sir, I don't dare to give suggestion but wish to share my view. We Mobile users are to a large number in our Bharat and if we contribute or if we are deducted just Rs 1 on every recharge and little more Rs 5 on postpaid in a month and this money be used on and only on our defence development I think it will help a lot and we will feel much proud and say Proud to be Indian.

If we talk about best and permanent solution then,having good and secure public transport is the way. I live in Taiwan and i have experienced many people are using public transports because it is cheap and convenient and you don't need to care about traffic and parking space. one more solution is to strictly close the factories causing more pollution. Either they should have substitute for less polluting equipment or they should have setup far away from cities.
