My concern is regarding the dying brand BSNL & its infrastructure in rural as well as in urban areas. Being the pioneer in the telecom sector & having the advantage of public sector entity, the entire network of BSNL if improved & innovated with latest digital reforms will definitely help in revolutionizing the internet growth story.

Well the fiber network should run in parallel with power grids, Each power station or central junction should behave as a data center itself. Besides like high-tension cables, fiber cables should be running together providing reliability. To connect even villages no new network map has to be designed, it'd be same as BSNL's just placing fiber optics with T1. We have also the vast highway network, placing cable parallel to highway can also connect states more efficiently reducing the distance.

Use a hybrid model where long distances can be covered via WiMAX technology connecting towers using Line of Sight(LoS) method. Once all villages/locations are connected with help of wireless towers a particular area can now be connected to tower with help of fibre optic network. This model will help rapid deployment of network to a larger area in shor time and less cost. Once this is achieved a national fibre optic network highway can be built to augment the wireless network

we can also use sewer pipes for optic fiber cable with a protecting covering , or for this we need to tunneling the old roads with TBMs so nothing can be seen on surface. so that the sewer can also get a maintenance and hence we can convert sewer pipes into digital foundation as well as using them to carry the waste

The Primary challanges of OFC network is laying on the ground along highway/road where the cable cut is frequent hence the poor service. Govt must think to have a national police to route OFC overhead using Power Grid tower, Telephone poles, electrical poles , over head Railway route , through river , canals , hills etc with policy and guidelines so that maximum continued services are available at backbone level with Mesh network. Secondly the last mile must be desined on wireless technology for 3-10 km distance to reduce the maintenance cost and downtime. Vocational training may be imparted to undergraduates so that they can be employed at rural/urban area to provide technical support to end users for maintaining the better uptime for connectivity.

let us accept reality. If we go for underground cabling that will cost higher. if we go for overhead cabling which is not accepted and even not worth to do it. this is one of the major issue when it comes to spread cable across India. By taking this on mind it is better to connect city to city by taking help from "Railway" Within the city signal can be spread by RF technology.
