MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

Sustainable lifestyles in metros seems to be a very difficult task especially with the diesel and petrol cars,air conditioners in cars and at home, and with the mobile chargers which take so much of power, the lifestyle is definately not self sustainable.When we give our goals at the COP21 let us all look towards sustainable development and especially lot of this to search in the renewable energy sources.Lot of development to be done in this sector if we want to still to our goals.

Respected Sir, With the help of Dharmika Samsthalu ( Devotional Institutions) there is a need to perform VARUNA JAPAMS throughout the country and selec places where water can be stored for long period. Close to Dams and Bridges so as to have water storage resources improved for better greenary life. This should go throughout the year for the benefit of the people. Hope Ministry will take some better action on this after this conferance.

after 5-6 years there would be condition that u will not be able to breath easily in DELHI , above changes will hardly improve condition because they are least effective . It is the high time to introduce so called Brahmastra for improve the condition in delhi and other areas as soon as possible.

Envirnment control can also be achieved by strictly following the laws made for it. Like nothing can be burnt on streets or in open. But usually the waste of houses,offices or hospitals etc. are burnt on streets. Even the municipal cleaning persons also burnt them instead of taking to waste lands. Citizens try to lodge FIR but Police do nothing. No FIR is written against those persons. In winter rubber material waste is burnt for heat. Laws are there but not followed by the Police.do something.

sir, It is most important for india to use solar energy from domestic level to industrial level, but as we know nowadays price of solar system is very high. Pl implement some scheme for solar system at least for Kw system

Maximum use of renewable energy is possible in our country and we should use it. Solar energy, wind energy, Rainwater Harvesting, solid waste management, use of bycicles to reduce carbon foot print, run rickshaws on battery (electric),use of cfl lamps instead of tubelights are necessary to meet our nations aim for pollution free, clean and green country. Every citizens co operation is needed for this. Changing climate is a worry for mother earth. Hence we have to take action accordingly.

Easy to preach, difficult to follow. Everyone wants tough difficult decisions for others to follow. But, to ensure control and better preservation of our mother earth.Preserve and recycle maximum of our wants with less carbon emissions. Let us adopt methods of essential mandatory cycle and walking paths on every road, new city, town, village and place. Encourage cycle on hire business at every 2-3 kms for commuting short distances to get to a train, metro or market, which is the least we can do.
