MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

My suggestion is to peotect forest and wild animals. 1.start digital identification of forest area by using GPS Latitude and Longitude. 2. In plane area Construct medium depth canal around forest to separate wild animals and villagers. This canal can give drinking water to animals and humans both. 3. Self greenery in forest takes too much time so increase the plantation in forest area by using technology. 4.increase the number of solar powered man made water pond in forest for summer.

Dear Respected Javadekar ji, I wanted to ask you about GM foods. Why is there a hurry around GM foods when their safety has not been proven scientifically? Can sufficient tests be done first so that natural and organic foods are no contaminated with GM genes? Also, the army Jawaan got partial implementation of OROP after 42 years. Congrats to your government for that. But the Indian Anndaata Kisaan has been suffering for 200 years. When will they be looked after? Thanks!

Sir, I am Rajender Singh from Delhi. Sir, mere paas idea hai jis se metro station per suside 99%. Kam ho jayga or humara future safe ho jayga. Sabse jayda suside young person hi karte hain. Sir, ek idea mere paas or hai jis se Mobile chori ko roka ja sakta hai. Chahe vo feature phone ho ya fir smart phone ho. Chahe uska IMEI no. hi kyu na badal diya ho sab humari pakad me honge. Thanks aapne mere ko mail bheji jis se main aapki side tak pahunch saka me ye idea aapko post se bhejne wala tha.

All IBR boiler must be mandated to use Furnace oil instead of fife wood or fuel briquettes and the furnace oil must be priced at Rs.15 per liter ( equal calorific value equal pricing) so that we can save as minimum of 100 Million tons of firewood of our country. The cost difference between imported price of furnace oil with out tax and duties to be made by other means.Save forest.

Furnace oil must be priced on the basis of equal calorific value and equal pricing so that people will switch over to furnace oil instead of fire wood and save our forest. Presently million tons of fire wood is being consumed in industries.

Respected Sir, I am a chemical engineer and Industrial engineer from IIT chennai and very seriously interested in saving okf fire wood and forests. Steam boilers use substantial quantity per day and we have so many IBR boilers consuming a total a millions tons of fire wood per day. I just do not from where it comes and how many days we can replenish. I strongly suggest that that the pricing of furnace oil must be such that equal calorific value and equal price compared to fire wood

1. Garbage disposition at village (Grampanchayat), small city (Nagar parishad ), Big city (Mahanagar ) level policy to be decided as per geolical position of place. Disposition of garbage by all methods to be decided locally not city out side.2.All local transport public transport vehicles to be converted to CNG or Battery operated or electrical operated 3. Particularly chemical industry hub to be strictly monitor by auto envirment method of air. water polution, not manualy

1.Kindly subsidise bio pesticides and fertilisers.This will lead to healthy production of food grains all over India which indirectly reduces healthcare costs of Lakhs of crores of low and middle class population across the country.Why govt is not doing this in a big way. 2.Why govt is not subsidising and not encouraging solar power production on roof tops.Why rain harvesting is not encouraged in a big way.Govt has to take urgent steps for penetration of the projects to each and every house.

In Adaptation Component of the presentation one of the point is High vulnerability of India to climate change impacts due to poverty & dependence of a large population on climate sensitive sectors for livelihood. Now we all know that one of the major reasons of poverty is Overpopulation. Is the government taking any stringent step to control overpopulation?

dear Sir, I am an architect based in Dubai and i think for the building industry in India its important that we follow the model Dubai started in terms of usage of material. There should be strict guidelines by the local municipality to control what we built and ensure that it reduced the carbon foot print. I know its a huge task but we can start with high end buildings where the client can afford these and then making it compulsory for all buildings. Some of the measures can be:
