MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to share my ideas . Sir I would like to be really supported if you can .Start caring gali, mohalla making polution free ( plantation of khushbudar flowers ) Even way for pedestrians is not pakka road.There is shortage of staff in every Government department .PPP is the best alternative .We can do at local level.Instructions awaited.Give Support to have big support .Minimum carbon emission by using carbon for other constructive purpose .Regards Rajendra

The often neglected & not so developed cities; say tier-3 cities; can be protected by future onslaught of anticipated economic development. If given proper city plans anticipating future, they can act as huge cushion for other urban centres. Also, they shall be rewarded for maintaining green infrastructure & local cultural heritage. While focussing on vulnerable sectors; non-vulnerable shall not be neglected.

Sir, first let all the old vehicles should be off the road immediately. Strict implementation of this on Public vehicles viz., autos, transport buses, taxis & more important the diesel Transport vehicles. Another important factor is the non-cleaned stagnant water ponds etc.,should be removed. The garbage disposal scheme is very poor especially in Karnataka (Bengaluru is more specific). Drainage system too requires a lot lot of improvement.

There should be compulsory vehicles fitness test and compulsion of its certificate to all category vehicles including all pollutant test also strict actions regarding it at lower grounds by all local bodies traffic cops , Lsg officers. And also strethen these laws bringing under EC Act As due to adulteration in fuel there is more pollution At last at time of purchase of any such machine or vehicle undertaking should be taken and the norms should be made likewise in it & sellers has to publish

No.1 cause of health problems in cities&towns is pollution.we already have rules&regulations in place.Environmental issues can be solved 70% with these rules or making small amendments to them. but this can be achieved only if authorities work correctly. Once we achieve 70% success then remaining 30% can be achieved by ideas.Even If we give ideas now(to solve 30%),but first 70% is not achieved, then there is no use of ideas. It would be nice if we give ideas after achieving first 70%.

om.Wastage of water, use of AC, petrol-diesel driven vehicles & machines- engines generator etc must be banned. petrol-diesel driven energy must be replaced by go-bar gas, solar, wind & wave energy to save our ecology, environment & ultimately our globe. Target of 30% plantation must be completed within a year in decentralized planed way. All the heads of the departments & organisations must be held responsible as well as accountable to achieve the targets.

Global warming is caused by human efforts- intervention and destruction of Nature & Ecology in the name of so called development. Unwanted and unethical pattern of industrialization causes the Corban emission and CFC gases. Such irrational human efforts causes the depletion of ozone layer&ultimately global warming and climate change. Researches warrant that if such anti Nature destructive efforts (western/ waste model of so called devpt is not checked, it may cause the danger for our ur universe

Sir, urgent need is also for developing suitable batteries - cells to store solar power for longer periods. This will truly make household solar power panels a viable option, especially in rural households and commercial centers. Tax incentives should be provided for green buildings. Improvement in building methods - structural planning & use of technology, will decrease need for power.

I have few suggestions: 1) Every Saturday declare as silent day I.e. no horn will be blown by any kind of vehicles, It Will help to reduce noise pollution. 2) Every 4th Saturday of month will be consider as no use of vehicles, starting with two wheelers n go on with 4 wheelers, we use bicycles instead of two wheelers for our city rides. 3) Once in week prepared food with natural resources, instead of using LPG or else way. I hope these will help in some way Thanks

Sir, our ancestors lived amidst & with nature. We should practise reuse, recycle, regenerate policy along with reviewing our need for material consumption. Paper and plastic waste can be profitably recycled or reused. Should we not make it a mission to increase awareness of reuse / recycling facilities and prevent wastage. Another important area will be grey water recycling in both homes & commercial establishments which should again be made mandatory, as most of our cities are water starved.
