Why not channelize the pet trade which includes exotics like reptiles, mammals, Birds, Invertebrates, Etc ? Legal import and sale of them. I could see a lot of consignments getting confiscated in airport and deported. And all the live animals that are brought in such ways, die of suffocation, dehydration, etc. All animals that are already available in India can been seen in Parivesh Portal, which was a good initiative. Unfortunately it has not taken shape even after 18 months of disclosure ever since the deadline fixed by MOEF.
