How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

To improvement of governance with the help of IT, installation of CCTV camara in all officer of government will help to control the corruption, it will help for transperacy and safety for office work which is done by staff. The psychonlogical effect will be in the mind of employee that, he is doing work under camara,so, the efficiency level will be increased. waste of time in talking and allied work during the office hour will be decreased. etc. are benifits of CCTV camara for good governance

Answer 5: Use of Mobile Governance always helpful in updating us about the latest activity as well as useful information (Earthquake/Flood Updates). My personal experience during “Nepal Earthquake”: By the use of Social media we are able to deliver frequent inputs to rescue/relief team and this process saved many lives as well as provided them relief on time. Mobile SMS/Email alerts always saved many lives (For e.g; something wrong happening inside train, via Whatsapp saved) #SmartCities

Answer 4: "Heritage Van" showcasing "Cultural aspects & Tourism scope" via Visuals/Streaming. & enhance "Tourism as well as Incredible India scope". "Solar Power" based Traffic lights. CCTV monitoring & "E-Chalan receipt delivery" to the mobile of Person (Owner of vehicle). Introduce Inter-City Bus system & Tourist Bus with facilities (like Wi-Fi), this will control "Big Jams". Mobile Van with Wi-Fi & Govt Schemes info and computer facilities; operated by trained IT youths #SmartCities
